Little Red Riding Hood

I’ve been so damn behind on my posts! I don’t know how to use WordPress. I still do not know how to view my blog from the dashboard and editing page. I really should just watch the tutorial videos and read the help page…

Anyway, for Andrew’s Sketching for Communications class, I have been working on this twisted version of Little Red Riding Hood. It took me a while to think of a way to twist the story…and keep it appropriate for school. In class this was the brainstorming that we had come up with.

Things like revenge, red cloak, Forest, little girl, voyage, grandmother, mother, etc. are included in the original Little Red Riding Hood.

In my new version, I decided to add in some mobsters, a little red corvette, a 20’something mobster’s daughter, and a bag full of cash. My version is about the daughter of a mobster, who is to bring her grandmother a bag of goodies before her father passes. Being the only child she said yes, not knowing that there would be danger ahead of her. On her voyage to the Hollywood Hills in her little red corvette. On her way she finds herself being followed by a suspicious black car. As she tries to take detours, to get away from the strange car, but her detours led the car to her Grandmother’s house before her. With the house dark and empty she is scared but brings the bag to her grandmother only to be caught and help hostage by a rival mob. Before Little Red and Granny know it, in comes Mother with a shotty to save the day.

Bunny G

This week, we were focusing on getting what the client wants onto a physical form. When creating work for your client, you have to be able to take what it is they want, which usually comes you in the form a mental note or image. It is then up to the artist to convert that into a piece of art that you will hopefully get paid for.

In class we were each given a sheet of white paper and asked to create a bunny. At first I thought about having to physically create a bunny, as in the form of origami. I decided to use my pencil and draw the bunny. I am not the most artistic person in the world, but I managed to create something. I called him Bunny G.
