DMA101: Vector Illustration

I had a lot of difficulty with this image towards the end of the final product. TO be honest I think I can do more to it, but because of time, this is what I have. When trying to use the mesh tool on the bottom snake, I didnt know how to keep the details  in the scales that the artist created. I found the face and neck easier than I though, as well as the top of the head. I tried my best to give some form of detail to the body with the top. As you can see I had a lot of trouble with the second snake, from the top. If you look at the original sketch, you will see plenty of detail in showing the roundness of the snake, but it is a smooth snake, with little to no detail in the scales. I had to keep in mind that the main purpose was to get familiar with the mesh tool in illustrator, because I was ready to just fill everything in with gradient. I do need to practice a bit more.I hate using the mesh tool, but love the results and effect it gives.

Rating System:

Audio

5/5

The audio in this game is near perfect. The voices are clear and easy to hear and understand. The sound effects are very close to reality, and fit appropriately with the visuals. Other audio such as the radio playing in the vehicles you enter are clear and are able to be changed and turned up or down.

Graphics

3/5

The graphics in GTA: San Andreas are not the most clear. The visuals are in need of work and an upgrade. The movement of the characters is close to real human movement, but again needs plenty of work.

Difficulty

5/5

As the player goes through the missions and completes them, the games difficulty raises. Averaging at about 100 missions, meaning 100 levels, the difficulty takes time to rise, but does noticeably.

Game Play

5/5

Game play is smooth and easy. With the PlayStation 2 controls, moving the character and doing such actions as shooting, driving, running, etc are simple.

Alien Artifact / Skateboard Deck Inspiration

If you are an iPhone user than you may be familiar with the app called instagram. Anyway I got my idea for my alien one night when I was on that app. a friend of mine had a photo of her smoking from a bong that I thought was pretty cool looking. It was multi-coloured and crafted in a unique way

. I had thought of making a ‘love bug’ before, but then decided to create something that resembled the bong I had seen. I first thought to create a peace pipe but wasn’t too sure if it would have been appropriate, so turned the bong into an alien.
I wanted to stick with the multi-coloured theme of the alien when creating the skateboard deck. Here are some images that I am using as inspiration to create it.

R.I.P The NOTORIOUS B.I.G

I just want to say Rest in Peace to my favourite Rapper, and the Greatest of all time; Biggie Smalls. I had a late night and created this in honour of him a little after 4am this morning. It’s very simple, I’m still learning illustrator, but its for him because he is the one who made me fall in love with hip-hop at age 4.

Shoe Advertisement

For Photography class we had to create a shoe advertisement to be run in a magazine. The ad was a one page spread.

This is my final edit of the shoe advertisement. I wanted to keep it very simple and clean, similar to those done by the creator of the shoe that I photographed.Image
